Hawaii's state flower is the yellow hibiscus (Hibiscus brackenridgei), known as the pua aloalo in the Hawaiian language. Due to hybridization, there are over 5,000 species of the hibiscus. Besides the yellow hibiscus, the beautiful flowers occur in a variety of colors, including red, pink and white.
